Welcome to our Stanhope Primary Family

A huge welcome to our very special children, parents, carers and interested visitors. It is a real pleasure and absolute privilege as the Head Teacher of Stanhope Primary School to welcome you to our school website.

Stanhope is a truly unique school with a long history of successfully providing quality education in  South Shields. In that time there have been many changes to education and indeed our wonderful school building but throughout the years we have always prided ourselves in making our children feel special and nurtured their talents in all areas of the curriculum.

We have high expectations of all learners and provide focused support allowing all children to make good progress. In addition to academic success, we are committed to identifying, developing and promoting individual talents and aptitudes so all children can achieve to their fullest potential. We strongly believe that the arts and sports provide a wealth of opportunities and experiences that both enhance learning and develop skills and talents as well as self-confidence and self-esteem.

We work as a team with parents, governors and the local community to ensure our children have the best educational experience we can offer at Stanhope for every child. Built on secure foundations of excellent teaching, a memorable, inspiring curriculum and consistently high academic attainment and progress for all learners.

It is also crucial that in our school we foster a whole family atmosphere where children feel confident to express their individuality, their talents and know that by showing any of our seven strengths they will be recognised and achievements in any aspect of their lives will be rewarded and celebrated.

Together we make Stanhope Primary an exciting place for your children in which to learn, grow and flourish in the centre of our vibrant community. Our school ethos of seven strengths are instilled in every single child, so that Stanhope children leave us ‘secondary ready’ as respectful, persevering, kind, independent, enthusiastic, team players who are resilient young people, eager for the next stage of learning in their lives and respectful towards the differences of cultures in modern British society.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr A Rogers
