At Stanhope we believe it is important for all pupils to have a voice and their opinions to be heard.

Through our School Council we encourage the children to respect other people.

We teach the children to have respect for democracy and have an understanding of the democratic processes.

Because of this, the children of Stanhope understand how citizens can influence decision-making through the democratic process.

At the start of each academic year, each class elects two new School Councillors to represent the children; this is in both KS1 and KS2.

The council meet for regular meetings to discuss any issues/views the children within the school has.
