South Tyneside Cross Country Finals 2025-26

25th September 2025A Rogers
SOUTH TYNESIDE SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY FINALS

We are incredibly proud of our amazing Cross Country team! 12 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.
Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 40 and 70 children from various schools in the borough.
All of our children, performed very well, working hard and demonstrating great determination right until the finishing line of their respective races.
Outstanding performers were:
Ava(Y6) running a great race, pacing it excellently to stide to a well deserved victory, earning GOLD medal.
Other Top 10 finishers included:
Riley (Y3) 8th, plus lots of top 20 performances too.

We will now continue to work hard; building upon our endurance and resilience in order to get back to winning ways. Every mile counts…

SOUTH TYNESIDE SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY FINALS

On Friday 38 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.
Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 40 and 70 children from various schools in the borough.
All of our children, performed very well, working hard and demonstrating great determination right until the finishing line of their respective races.
Outstanding performers were:
Lucas (Y6) running a great race to pick up a hard earned SILVER medal.
Other Top 10 finishers included:
Maro (Y5) 5th, Emilia (Y4) 9th, Evie (Y4) 10th & Yanna (Y5) 10th.
We will now continue to work hard; building upon our endurance and resilience in order to get back to winning ways. Every mile counts…

On Friday 28 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.
Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 40 and 70 children from various schools in the borough.
All of our children, performed very well, working hard and demonstrating great determination right until the finishing line of their respective races.
Outstanding performers were:
Ava (Y4) storming to GOLD for the second consecutive year. She showed her fanstatic abilities, leading from the start and winning by a massive margin.
Other Top 10 finishers included:
Ryan (Y4) 5th, Zhalya (Y6) 7th, Emilia (Y3) 7th & Yanna (Y4) 8th.
We will now continue to work hard; building upon our endurance and resilience in order to get back to winning ways. Every mile counts…🎖😁

Yesterday 31 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.
Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 40 and 70 children from various schools in the borough.
All of our children, performed very well, working hard and demonstrating great determination right until the finishing line of their respective races.
Outstanding performers were:
Bobby (Y6) ran a great race to silver – he worked hard and showed his wonderful all around ability once again.
Lucas (Y4) led from the front and was never headed throughout for a very decisive victory racing to gold.
Ryan (Y3) such a great finish, tussling with the silver medalist, but pushing himself to gold in the final 100m. Such fabulous potential for the future!
Ava (Y3) following in her brothers footsteps she was never headed, leading from the front throughout for a clear gold medal winning run!
Other Top 10 finishers included:
Harry (Y6) 6th, Yanna (Y3) 7th, Lacey (Y5) 5th & Lee-Jay (Y4) 10th.
The Y3 Girls were also team winners of their age category which is fantastic for them as it was, for some of them, their first competition representing Stanhope.

South Tyneside Cross Country Finals 2021-22

25th March 2022A Rogers

Today 29 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.

Firstly, I must say the commitment of the children, to give up the afternoon of their day off, highlighted their dedication once again. I was truly delighted to see them all performing to their very best and giving everything in the green and gold of Stanhope. Aided by the wonderful support from various families and friends as the sun beamed down on us.

Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 40 and 70 children from various schools in the borough.

All of our children, performed very well, working hard and demonstrating great determination right until the finishing line of their respective races.

Outstanding performers were:

Bobby (Y5) was push all the way, but his sprint finish burnt off the opposition. He is such a great talent in so many sports!

Rhianna (Y4) led from the front and was never headed throughout a brilliant race to gold.

Lucas (Y3) such a dominant display and winner by over 10 seconds. Such fabulous potential for the future!

Other Top 10 finishers included:
Ruby (Y5) 5th, Dakota (Y3) 8th, Lacey (Y4) 10th & Lee-Jay (Y3) 10th.

The Y4 Girls were also team winners of their age category which is fantastic for them as it was, for some of them, their first competition representing Stanhope.

We therefore finished as 4th overall team scoring 358 points.

I am so proud of all of you. Every mile counts…🎖😁

8th November 2019A Rogers

Yesterday 31 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.

Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 60 and 80 children from various schools in the borough.

All of our children, performed well, working hard and demonstrating great determination.

Outstanding performers were:

Alexa (Y6) who was a convincing winner, leading from the start and growing stronger competition, by competition. Keep it up!

Bobby (Y3) was never headed in his race, storming to victory. A great talent for the future!

Ruby G (Y3) also finished in 3rd place with a great run to win the bronze medal.

Other Top 10 finishers included:
Ruby (Y3) 5th, Cassie (Y5) 6th, Jordan (Y4) 10th & Ruby (Y5) 10th.

The Y3 Girls and Year 6 Girls Teams were both winners of their age categories which is fantastic for them as it was, for some of them, their first competition representing Stanhope.

The Y4 Boys were 2nd and Y3 Boys 3rd in their team categories.

The Y4 Girls and Y5 Girls were 7th, Y5 Boys 8th and Y6 Boys finished 9th.

We therefore finished as 5th overall team scoring 421 points.

Jarrow & Hebburn A.C. Cross Country 2019

Today we had an extremely wet and cold experience, but it was wonderful to see 20 talented Stanhope runners represented, some of which for the very first time. It was highly enjoyable at Bedeswell Park in Jarrow.

Thank you to all of those pupils and parents who made the effort to attend in such inclement weather – great dedication shown.

There were some great performances – it was fantastic to see the children giving their all despite the rain, wind and muddy conditions.

Our super squad of runners will continue to practise hard for the forthcoming South Tyneside Schools’ Finals on November 7th at Temple Park.

Yesterday 31 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside Cross Country Finals.

Each child completed in their respective year group events, comprising of between 80 and 100 children from various schools in the borough.

All of our children, performed well, working hard and demonstrating great determination.

Outstanding performers were:

Cassie Howard (Y4) who lead from the very start and was never headed. She stormed to a convincing victory, she is a great talent with so much potential for the future.

Another highlight was Uzair Rana (Y3), Seren Shaw (Y3) & Alexa Reid (Y5) who all finished in 4th place.

Other Top 10 finishers included:
Ruby Sharp (Y4) 6th, Given Mbila (Y4) 6th, Brooke Urwin (Y6) 7th, Ryan Smith (Y3) 8th, Riley O’Sullivan (Y4) 9th, Shari Viney (Y5) 9th & Kara Osman (Y4) 10th.

The Y3 Boys Team were Winners of their age category which is fantastic for them as it was their first competition representing Stanhope.

The Y3 Girls, Y4 Boys and Y4 Girls were all 2nd in their team categories. The Y5 Girls were 6th and Y5 Boys, Y6 Girls and Y6 Boys all finished 10th.

We therefore finished as 3rd overall team scoring 464 points.
