South Tyneside Tag Rugby Finals 2026

🟢🟡 South Tyneside Tag Rugby 🟢🟡
This afternoon, 15 children visited Monkton Academy for the South Tyneside Tag Rugby Finals. All children showed incredible teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Our A Team won 7 out of 8 matches. After a brilliant performance, they finished as silver medalists, narrowly missing out on the top spot by 2 points!
Out B Team won 2 matches, drew 2 and lost 4. They showed resilience and a fantastic attitude in every game.
Well done to all children for your hard work and commitment. We are incredibly proud of you all 👏🏻

Tyne and Wear County Quadkids Athletics Finals 2026

TYNE AND WEAR COUNTY QUADKIDS ATHLETICS FINALS 2026

On Friday we had great success in the Tyne and Wear County Finals at Monkton Stadium.
Our Y5/6 Quadkids team finished a brilliant 3rd scoring 1708 points.

Y5/6 TEAM RESULT
1st – Gosforth Central Middle (Newc)
2nd – Kings Priory (NT)
3rd – Stanhope (ST)

Individually – Maro and Ava were 1st Boy and 1st Girl – outstanding performances from the best 200 children in the County!

Our Y3/4 Team also made the finals and finished in the top 8 teams – showing great promise for the future.

Well done to all 20 pupils who represented our school.
I’m very proud of each and everyone of you.

Congratulations to all of the medallists!

Tyne & Wear County Panathlon Finals 2026

🟢🟡Panathlon County Final🟡🟢
Today, children competed in two team in the Panathlon County Final. Children had to take part in 8 separate events including boccia, curling and target throwing.
Children showed amazing skill and teamwork. Team B placed 4th and Team A came third resulting in a bronze medal 🥉

Y6 H4H North East Basketball Finals 2026

Y6 H4H North East Basketball Finals 2026
Yesterday our Year 6 Basketball Team competed at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle. 🏀⛹️‍♀️⛹️
They were tremendous, lifting the title and remaining undefeated all day. 🏆🥇
Other school pupils and staff commented on their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship shown throughout the day.
They won 9/9 group games to progress to the Quarter Finals. Here they beat Monkhouse Primary 12-4. In the Semi Finals they defeated a physical Wellfield Middle School 8-6.
Before competing against Gosforth Central Middle School in the Final. Here the team raced into a 6-0 lead within the first minute. By the end of the match they were winners 12-4.

South Tyneside Y3/4 Quadkids Athletics Finals 2026

SOUTH TYNESIDE QUADKIDS ATHLETICS FINALS Y3/4 2026
Yesterday, children from Year 3/4 took part in the South Tyneside Quadkids Athletics competition at Monkton Stadium.
The children competed in 50m, 400m, howler throw and standing long jump against over 40 other teams.
The children did fantastically well and showed enthusiasm to all events. We finished 2nd and 15th overall.

3rd Westoe Crown 1242
They will now progress to next weeks’ Tyne and Wear County Finals.

Tyne & Wear County Netball Finals 2026

🟡🟢 Netball County Finals 🟡🟢
Today, our netball team represented Stanhope at the County Finals and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved.
Reaching this stage of the competition was a fantastic accomplishment in itself, having finished as one of the top three teams in South Tyneside. The children have dedicated their time to regular training sessions after school and during lunchtimes, always giving their best and supporting one another as a team. They even gave up their INSET day today to take part in the competition.
The team represented our school with pride, demonstrating excellent teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship. They should all be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. Well done!

South Tyneside Y5/6 Quadkids Athletics Finals 2026

SOUTH TYNESIDE QUADKIDS ATHLETICS FINALS Y5/6 2026
Yesterday, children from Year 5/6 took part in the Quadkids Athletics competition at Monkton Stadium.
They took part in four events : 600m, sprint, howler throw and standing long jump.
The children were fantastic in all events and showed great team spirit throughout the day.Our A Team secured GOLD with 1650, St. Bede’s 2nd 1601 and St. Aloysius 3rd 1569.Ava achieved the highest score of the day overall to win the girls individual event with a breathtaking total of 274 points (A South Tyneside Record), plus Maro was 1st overall boy with a score of 261 points. Congratulations!!

We will now compete in the Tyne and Wear County Finals on later this month.

Northern Regional Dodgeball Finals 2026

NORTHERN REGIONAL DODGEBALL FINALS 2026

A massive congratulations to our dedicated dodgeball team, who today were crowned Regional Champions and progress to the National Finals on 3rd July in Kettering.
They played superbly all day winning all of their group games to progress to the final, playing Blakehill (Manchester), they were triumphant, winning 8-4! Well done everyone – so proud of you. Our fifth National Finals – what an achievement!

Tyne and Wear County Boccia Finals 2026

Today our Boccia team competed in the county finals at Gateshead Leisure Centre.
The children showed fantastic teamwork and encouraged each other throughout. Their skill and determination showed in each game and they came third out of 15 teams and won a bronze medal.
