South Tyneside Y5/6 Quadkids Athletics Finals 2026

11th June 2026A Rogers
SOUTH TYNESIDE QUADKIDS ATHLETICS FINALS Y5/6 2026
Yesterday, children from Year 5/6 took part in the Quadkids Athletics competition at Monkton Stadium.
They took part in four events : 600m, sprint, howler throw and standing long jump.
The children were fantastic in all events and showed great team spirit throughout the day.Our A Team secured GOLD with 1650, St. Bede’s 2nd 1601 and St. Aloysius 3rd 1569.Ava achieved the highest score of the day overall to win the girls individual event with a breathtaking total of 274 points (A South Tyneside Record), plus Maro was 1st overall boy with a score of 261 points. Congratulations!!

We will now compete in the Tyne and Wear County Finals on later this month.

Northern Regional Dodgeball Finals 2026

NORTHERN REGIONAL DODGEBALL FINALS 2026

A massive congratulations to our dedicated dodgeball team, who today were crowned Regional Champions and progress to the National Finals on 3rd July in Kettering.
They played superbly all day winning all of their group games to progress to the final, playing Blakehill (Manchester), they were triumphant, winning 8-4! Well done everyone – so proud of you. Our fifth National Finals – what an achievement!

Tyne and Wear Dodgeball Finals 2026

🟢🟡TYNE AND WEAR DODGEBALL FINALS 2026🟡🟢
Yesterday our two dodgeball teams competed at Tyne Met College.
A team played amazingly well and won all of their group matches. They competed in a tense final against Lord Blyton in which it went to extra time. The A team came out winners and now progress to the NORTHERN REGIONAL FINALS.
B team won 3 out of their 5 group games and played brilliantly.
Congratulations to both teams who played with determination, skill and teamwork. Their hard work and commitment to practice has paid off.

TYNE AND WEAR SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS FINALS 2026

CONGRATULATIONS to our Athletics team who finished a close and respectable 4th in the county finals today at Temple Park.

I am so proud of the pupils, who have put in so many of hours training for this event. They performed well with 3 great relay performances and team spirit demonstrated throughout each and every event.

Well done to the team. Congratulations once again!

South Tyneside Y5/6 Gymnastics Finals 2025

Our gymnastics team took part in a competition at The Urban Factory. They each took to the floor to perform their routine and each one of them were amazing.
Our B Team finished in 4th position.
A Team 3rd coming away with a bronze medal
The results were incredibly close and we are very proud of your commitment and dedication which you have shown in the past weeks. Your hard work has paid off.

Champion Of Champions Basketball Finals 2025

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS BASKETBALL FINALS 2025

On Friday night our Basketball Team, having won the South Tyneside Finals in April. They competed against the other winning schools from the North East. The team played fantastically to advance from the group stages to play in the final in front of 5000 Newcastle Eagles fans. This took place at half time of the main match. Here they sadly lost 2-0 to Ovingham Middle School. We are extremely proud of the team who have practiced hard for many weeks. Mr Rogers & Miss Corr.

National Dodgeball Finals 2025

NATIONAL DODGEBALL FINALS 2025

Our talented 9 dodgeballers competed in the National Finals in Stoke. They played tremendously well to reach this stage of the competition for the fourth consecutive time. We were in Group 1 and won 3 of our matches to progress to the knockout stages. In the Quarter Finals we were beaten in extra time. Such hard luck!

Congratulations to the team and all of their time and effort since September when the very first rounds of the event began.

A special thanks to those Year 6 pupils whose last event in the Stanhope green and gold colours was a big one – you will be dearly missed.

South Tyneside Tag Rugby Finals 2025

1st July 2025A Rogers
South Tyneside Tag Rugby Champions 2025
What a fantastic afternoon! 16 of our children visited Monkton School to compete in the South Tyneside Finals. Our 2 teams competed with brilliant team spirit. The children gave 100% in each and every game.
Our A Team topped the table in their group to move forward to the Semi Finals, winning all of their games. Our B Team won 1 game 4-0 and lost 2 games.
The A Team played Lord Blyton A in the Semi Final which resulted in a 1-1 tie! It was an intense few minutes to find out which team had the most overall points and progressed to the final. Our A Team progressed to the final to play Monkton A Team.
The team played a very high quality final against Monkton A, it was Lucas who managed to score in the last minute to win the game and take Gold!
A brilliant afternoon and well done to all children for your hard work and commitment. We are incredibly proud of you all

Quadkids Athletics Tyne and Wear County Finals 2025

TYNE AND WEAR COUNTY FINALS 2025
 
Today we had great success in the Tyne and Wear County Finals at Monkton Stadium.
Our Y5/6 Quadkids team finished a brilliant 3rd scoring 1611 points.
 
Y5/6 TEAM RESULT
1st  – Gosforth Central Middle (Newc) 1768
2nd – Kings Priory (NT) 1622
3rd – Stanhope (ST) 1611
Individually – Lucas finished 2nd with 255 points and Ava also 2nd with 229 – excellent performances from the best 200 children in the County!
 
Well done to all 10 pupils who represented our school.
I’m very proud of each and everyone of you.
Congratulations to all of the medallists!
