Well done to the 17 pupils who yesterday competed at Boldon Comprehensive School in the South Tyneside Finals.
Our B Team won 2 and lost 2 of their group games to finish 3rd in group 1 to sadly be eliminated. Goals came from: Ruby Henry (2), Robbie Frame (1) and Kieron Jerry (1).
The A Team played well to win their group with 3 wins and 1 draw. Goals came from: Jack Garlinge (4), Aston Hall (2), Sahib Basra (1), Haiden Jones (1), Maddison Fontaine (1) and Beth Thompson (1).
They then showed fantastic skills, but faced heart break to be beaten 3-0 in the semi finals to East Boldon.

South Tyneside Hockey Results 2017
Hockey T&W County Finals!
On Tuesday 28th March our Year 3&4 hockey team travelled to North Shields to take part in the Tyne & Wear School Games Finals. They played 4 matches in the group stage. We got off to a winning start beating Portobello (Gateshead) 4-0. However we next came up against eventual runners-up St. Michael’s (Sunderland) losing 5-0 and then against the eventual winners King’s Priory (North Tyneside) losing 3-0. We bounced back to draw 3-3 with Hotspur (Newcastle) meaning we missed out on progressing to the semi-finals.
In a play off for 7th place we defeated local rivals St. Bede’s South Shields (South Tyneside) 2-1. Overall each and everyone of the 6 players gave their all and I am very proud of the way you conducted yourselves and the progress you have made as hockey players in the past few weeks. Always showing exceptional sportsmanship throughout!
Jack Garlinge in particular was instrumental in many of our goals, demonstrating intricate skills and footwork! Aston Hall was a very calm and determined figure on the pitch at all times. Well Done also to Charlie Bates (Captain), Layla Kerrigan, Dominic Sorlie and Robbie Frame.
