Year 2 Polar Express

5th December 2019S Office

YEAR 2 – POLAR EXPRESS DAY

This afternoon, the children in Year 2 were thrilled to find out that Mrs Martin was so impressed by their letters this week that she has given permission for the children to have their very own Polar Express Day.

On Wednesday 18th December, the Year 2 pupils are permitted to wear their pyjamas and dressing gowns for school. They may also bring in a small teddy and a pair of slippers – if they wish.

Throughout the day, the children will be taking part in Christmas crafts, biscuit decorating and they will also watch The Polar Express film with hot chocolate and other treats.

All of the children (as well as Miss Haygarth and Miss Mensforth) are extremely excited to have their own special day to celebrate the end of their English novel.

Year 2 Polar Express

5th December 2019S Office
On Tuesday, Year 2 started reading their new novel in English – The Polar Express.

The children thought it would be exciting to have their own Polar Express day in school. Therefore, they have started writing letters to Mrs Martin to persuade her to give permission for a special day wearing pyjamas, drinking yummy hot chocolate and watching the fantastic film.

Fingers crossed Mrs Martin says yes when she reads the letters.

Keep posted to find out her answer.

This morning some of our children from Key Stage 2 travelled to ASDA to sing Christmas songs. They were all in fine voice and did really well. They made lots of money for the school.

SCHOOL CLOSURE ON FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2019

25th November 2019S Office
*** SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2019 ***

Due to the very high levels of sickness (the winter vomiting Bug) between both the pupils and the staff I have requested that our Local Authority carry out a thorough deep clean.
The Deep Clean will be carried out on Friday 29th November 2019 therefore the school will be closed. This will ensure that the school environment, surfaces and carpets are thoroughly cleaned and hopefully reduce the risk of further infection to our pupils and staff.

The school will re-open Monday 2nd December 2019.

If your child is feeling unwell and shows symptoms of the Norovirus, we advise that they DO NOT come into school until 48 hours after their symptoms have passed. This is stop further spreading of the infection. Any children who come into school unwell, will be sent home.

I hope you understand the decision I have made and would like to give as much notice as possible to parents/carers who may need to arrange any childcare.
