IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It has came to our attention particularly from Year 6 parents that the kitchen at Stanhope Primary School is inadequate. We would like to confirm this is NOT true.
Last week, the kitchen received its regular inspection from Environmental Health. For many years now we have had a rating of 5. This is the HIGHEST rating possible – it has been confirmed from the Catering Team that the rating has REMAINED at 5.
All of our kitchen staff, who have many years experience, are employed by South Tyneside Council who have provided outstanding training and food hygiene skills which are followed precisely when preparing, handling and serving food.
We will not accept slanderous rumours regarding the cleanliness of our school kitchen. Not only are these rumours untrue, they could tarnish our reputation as a school.
If any parents or carers have any concerns regarding the school meals, please contact school directly or Elizabeth Luke (Catering Team).

Year 5 have been painting their air dry clay cup designs this afternoon. They look great!
Your child is currently visiting Mortimer Comprehensive School. Your child may arrive back in school several minutes after the bell. Please be patient.
Thank you
Year 6 have enjoyed science experiments in class with Mrs Ireland-Craig.
SCHOOL IS CLOSED TODAY DUE TO HEATING FAILURE. PLEASE CONTINUE TO CHECK THE SCHOOL WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE FOR UPDATES.
THANK YOU
Year 5 had a fabulous World Book Day. They took part in a Reading Quiz with Year 6, shared books with children from Year 2 and created their own story character. They will be using these character in their story writing.
Rocket Fund! 🚀
As parents/carers we appreciate that you all want the best education for your children. As a school, staff and volunteers work tirelessly to make sure they get the best education they deserve.
Along with traditional education, we rely on the support from technology and equipment to access lessons and teach your children to their full potential. We have noticed, we are running low on science and computing resources in school.
This week, we have launched a rocket fund account to raise money for computing and science resources. This is a page very similar to a go fund me page, and it allows parents/carers/grandparents/the public to make donations as big or small as they wish to the school. All of the money raised will go towards buying equipment.
We appreciate, that as a school we have regular activities/events in school that require a small donation/cost from parents/carers. With that in mind, even a small donation of £1.00 from parents would be appreciated. If you feel are able to donate more, that would be fantastic!!
To donate please click the link:

Please share this post and help us raise our target of £1383.00 and beyond!
Thank you!! 🚀🌝🥇
World Book Day – Book Fair 📚📖
Your child/ren will bring home a letter this afternoon with information regarding our next Book Fair. The Book Fair will take place from NEXT WEDNESDAY for 1 week. Although the Book Fair is normally held in November, we have decided it would be a great opportunity to host it during World Book Day week. Not only is it World Book Day, it will also coincide with the current Readathon Challange.
We usually use the Travelling Book Company however, we feel the books are quite expensive, so have decided to use The Book People; who offer a range of book for all ages at very reasonable prices. The Book Fair will be open from 8.15am, break times and from 3.15pm. Please feel free to bring your child to browse the selection. Your child/ren will also visit the The Book Fair with their class teachers.
** If you wish to send money into school with your child to purchase a book during break time or on their allocated slot with their class teacher, it MUST be in a sealed envelope with their name clearly displayed on the front – No cash will be accepted at the office or classroom door **
Thank you
