Year 1 visited Temple Park to take part in Multiskills. The children were excellent!

This morning Reception and Year 1 visited Fenwick’s window. The children loved seeing the scenes from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, then enjoyed a gingerbread man biscuit. The children behaved very well and were an asset to the school. Well done everyone!
Year 2 had a fantastic Polar Express Day on Wednesday. Their day began with an ‘I Believe’ bell on their desk with a candy cane. The classroom was filled with lights and blankets on the carpet so the children were comfortable. Everyone came to school in their pyjamas and even brought a little teddy bear.
After the register, the children began their Christmas crafts by making Christmas trees, designing stockings and creating baubles. During the morning, the children decorated biscuits with icing and sprinkles.the icing was everywhere!
After lunch, they enjoyed watching the Polar Express film whilst drinking hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.
It was the best day ever!
Yesterday morning, Year 1 and 2 were thrilled when Santa made a surprise appearance in the school hall. The children were delighted to her ringing bells and seeing Santa walk through the door. Every child received a special present and had their photograph taken with Santa.
The children have promised to go to bed early on Christmas Eve and make sure they continue to behave to stay on the ‘good list’

‘January will see our second Well being Event here at Stanhope Primary. We have invited visitors who work for services throughout South Tyneside which are here to support our children and families to come along and chat or be available to answer questions. Miss Coils (Stanhope’s own Well being Officer) will also be available to chat. There will be special guests to create a relaxing afternoon with hand massage and arty fun! Why not finish your afternoon off with a delicious Afternoon Tea or just a cuppa and a biscuit? We look forward to seeing you all there.’

In maths, year 3 have been learning about the properties of 3D shapes. Using spaghetti and marshmallows they had a go at making their own cubes, cuboids, pyramids and even a pentagonal prism.
