Friendship Week 2019

Next week we will host our annual Friendship Week. Children are to wear the following:

MONDAY: Uniform with ODD SOCKS
TUESDAY: UNIFORM
WEDNESDAY: NON UNIFORM – WEAR SOMETHING YELLOW
THURSDAY: UNIFORM
FRIDAY: NON UNIFORM

and not forgetting – OUR HEALTHY BREAKFAST MORNING ON WEDNESDAY 8-9AM!!

IMPORTANT – Texting Service Information

Throughout February we will be changing our school texting service to a parent app. Within the app you will be able to receive direct messages and attachments such as letters and information documents. In order to receive messages and information from school you MUST download the Parent Hub app. The app will ask you to complete the following steps:

 

  • Click create an account
  • Enter an email address
  • Create a password
  • Add your first name and surname
  • Click join a school
  • Enter – @StanhopePrimary

 

After this step it will ask you to do EITHER:

 

  • Ask you to enter a mobile number, send you a code and verify your child OR
  • Take you straight to the app home screen – you will then need to add your child/ren by clicking the parent hub logo button (top left) and selecting ‘add my child’ and follow the steps

 

Once you have linked your telephone number to your child/ren, the app will automatically send you messages from your child/ren class.

 

It is with the upmost IMPORTANCE that the app is downloaded to receive messages/documents from school. If you have any problems downloading the app please contact the school office. You are able to download the app today however you will not receive any messages until February.

Year 4 – International Week

24th January 2019S Office
As part of International Week, Year 4 have been studying Japan. During the week, the children have been researching the country and creating their own leaflets. In Art lessons, they have created their own printing blocks with Japanese symbols to create a piece of artwork. Furthermore, they have made a cherry blossom tree plate and even made origami butterflies and cranes. The children have thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities this week – especially the arts and crafts sessions.

Autumn Term Attendance Reward

The children who had 100% attendance throughout the Autumn Term received an ‘Inflatable Party!’. The children had so much fun throughout the morning. A big well done to all of the children with 100% attendance… Keep it up!!

Internet Safety Day

We have been asked to give the following message to Parents/Carers:

 

South Tyneside Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults Boards, in partnership with South Tyneside Council and Northumbria Police, are supporting Internet Safety Day 2019.  This will be launched by The Mayor of South Tyneside Mr Ken Stephenson, on Monday 04 February, 10am-12noon at The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, when there will be the opportunity to view the first in a series of video podcasts aimed at supporting parents and carers with keeping children safe online.  More editions of these will follow in future and these are being shared with all of our partners including schools.

 

Following the launch there are a series of drop in sessions aimed at helping people of all ages to stay safe online, as well as providing a top tips guide for identifying and dealing with internet scams and bogus callers. The sessions are open to both professionals and members of the community.

Rainbow Day!

REMINDER: Tomorrow is RAINBOW DAY! 🌈⭐️ The children can dress up in their most favourite and bright colours! There is no charge and there is a special rainbow lunch!

Please make sure your child is wearing suitable shoes and outdoor clothing as the children will still be outside during break time and lunch time (no dress up princess shoes or high heels)

Not only is it Rainbow Day, it’s the 100% attendance reward for all children with 100% attendance in the Autumn Term! They will be rewarded with an inflatable party!! The party will take place throughout the morning in the school hall.

Tyne and Wear County Sportshall Athletics Finals 2019

Scintilating Silver for Sportshall Athletics team at the Tyne and Wear County Finals!

Today 23 children from Y4-6 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the Tyne and Wear County Sportshall Athletics Finals.

Having qualified to represent South Tyneside when winning the previous round in November 2018 the children competed fiercely against very talented pupils from across the county.
The children have practiced diligently and with great determination for many months, both in school at break times and lunchtimes, as well as after-school too. Their commitment has been second-to-none.
At the end of the event, when the scores of the pupils within each team were totalled, our Team were announced as RUNNERS-UP. Gosforth Central Middle School (winners for the previous 3 years) were THIRD and Kings crowned CHAMPIONS.

There were some impressive performances, with great potential for future years demonstrated too.

RESULTS – Tyne and Wear Finals

 

We won 4 field event team scores on the day, 4 relay victories and had 4 individual wins and 4 second places individually too – tremendous!
