Reporting your child/ren absense

5th March 2020S Office
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When your child/ren is absent from school, it is school policy that the absence is reported on the FIRST day of absence.

It is reported using the absence line which is OPTION 1 when calling school. We have a number or parents who are pressing option 2, which directs the call to the office and reporting the absence to office staff rather than Mrs Thompson (Attendance and Safeguarding Officer).

When reporting an absence you MUST follow the directions below:

1️⃣ Call the school on the FIRST day of absence – 0191 4201710
2️⃣ Press OPTION 1 to leave a voicemail
3️⃣ State your child’s FULL NAME and YEAR GROUP
4️⃣ The reason for your child’s absence

If we require any additional information OR the information you have provided is not sufficient, Mrs Thompson will contact you via telephone.

Any phone calls regarding absences to the main office will not be accepted and you will need to call back to leave a message on the attendance line.

Thank you for your co operation.

Year 4 – Fair trade

5th March 2020S Office

Yesterday, Year 4 had a great time cooking with fair trade products. We bought some fair trade products to make our own hot chocolate drink (some of us added cream) and chocolate chip cookies. We also explored basic needs required in order to survive, including countries from across the world and how these may differ. It brought up a great debate when trying to prioritise.

WORLD BOOK DAY 2020!
👩‍🏫👨‍🏫📚📖

At Stanhope Primary School, we have an annual tradition of celebrating World Book Day.

This year it will be held on THURSDAY 5 MARCH 2020 and we ask if children can come to school in their pyjamas and bring their favourite bedtime story.

The children must wear a suitable coat and shoes as they will be outside during playtime and lunchtime.

There is no charge for the day.

This applies to all children from Nursery – Year 6.

Thank you
