Some members of the Durham Light Infantry visited school to teach the children about the war and the importance of Remembrance Day.
This term in Science, Year 5 have been learning about reversible and irreversible changes to materials. Today we carried out the Diet Cola and Mentos experiment to understand how some changes are irreversible. Look out for our video to show what happened!

Miss Coils and three children from school visited the Town Hall last week to learn about democracy. They were told a story about Staryland, where their people needed help to elect a new leader. The children discussed which qualities they looked for in a good leader and heard the candidates speeches in the council chambers. Every child was then given the opportunity to vote at an actual polling booth, with ballot papers and a ballot box. It was a tense few moments waiting for the votes to be verified and counted. Damon, James and Ruby sat with their fingers crossed hoping the candidate they voted for would be elected. To their delight it was indeed Sally Shoestring who was crowned the new leader of Staryland!
Congratulations! We’ve done it – we have completed our SECOND chart (300 stickers). 🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳😁😁😁
Thank you to everyone who has contributed, but please keep on bringing in more stickers as we have ordered a further poster to complete and have just less than a month to fill it. I know we can do it 😁👍
As you are aware, Aldi UK have teamed up with the 2020 Olympics and are giving schools the chance to win £20,000!
Please continue to collect the stickers from your local Aldi UK and bring them into school to stick on the chart!
