IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SCHOOL MEALS

Due to unforeseen repairs to appliances in our school kitchen, there will be a change to the 3 week menu rota. This is something that is out of our control. We would like to apologise and hope to have the menu rota back to normal after half term. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Year 6 RAP

The children in Year 6 visited South Shields Fire Station this morning, to take part in RAP (reducing accidents at play). This is a workshop provided by South Tyneside Council to teach and encourage children to be safe.

Newcastle Eagles

The children in Year 5 took part in a workshop with some of the Newcastle Eagles. The children had a fab afternoon!

Year 2 – Hancock Museum

30th September 2019S Office

This morning, Year 2 visited the Great North Museum in Newcastle to attend a private screening of ‘We Are Aliens’ at their planetarium. Currently, the children are studying Man on the Moon in English so it was a perfect opportunity to learn more about Space by watching a fantastic planet show. The children thoroughly enjoyed their trip on the Metro as well as their time in the museum.

Year 2 – Quiet Critters

Shhhhh…. we’re working
Year 2 now have extra members of their class – Quiet Critters. Each child is given a quiet critter to look after when completing different tasks. The critter does not like noise and wants to watch the children working hard. All of the children love their critters and take very good care of them.

This week, Year 2 have began using Reading Eggs for the very first time and they love it! Reading Eggs is an online program with fantastic games and activities that make reading interesting and fun. EUSS Drop in sessions

EUSS Application drop In

The EU Settlement Scheme is a free Scheme which enables EEA and Swiss citizens resident in the UK, and their family members, to obtain the status they will require in order to live and work in the UK after 30 June 2021 (or after 31 December 2020 if there is a no deal exit).

The Children’s Society’s Migrant Advice Project offers support to vulnerable EU Citizens going through the EU Settlement Scheme in the North East. Support is also available to family members of EU citizens to gain settled or pre-settled immigration status in the UK.

The drop-in and appointment service is free of charge, with interpreters available to assist those who may face language barriers. Initial information gathering sessions will be carried out on the client’s first visit, and if appropriate an appointment date and time will be provided to continue to complete the application.

The Migrant Advice Project has access to all the necessary equipment needed to make EUSS applications, ensuring that all clients are able to make their application in a confidential environment.

Newcastle:  Mondays at 1pm -4pm (except bank holidays) at Brunswick Methodist Church, Brunswick Place, NE1 7BJ

Gateshead: Thursdays, 1-4pm at The Hub (Family Church) , Swan St, Gateshead NE8 1BQ

Sunderland: Tuesdays (starting 3rd September), 1-4pm at Sunderland Bangladesh International Centre, 30 Tatham St, Sunderland SR1 2QD
