Nursery – Road Safety

9th July 2018T Capon
Last week, Nursery met a lady called Lori from South Tyneside Council who taught us all about road safety. We have learnt three very important rules:
1. Stop
2. Look
3. Listen
We know how important it is to find a safe place to cross such as a zebra crossing, pedestrian crossing or with the help of a lollipop person. We had fun dressing up and trying out the pedestrian lights.
Remember: Always hold your grown ups hand and stay off the kerb.

We are delighted to announce that we, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Thank you to Mr Rogers and all of the children who have contributed to the school sports teams throughout the year! What an achievement!

Discovery Museum – Year 6

3rd July 2018T Capon
As part of their Leavers treats, Year 6 enjoyed a fun-filled day out in Newcastle yesterday. After travelling by Metro to Central Station, they spent the morning at the Discovery Museum. They visited a variety of exhibitions and loved their time in the Science Maze – especially when they were playing air hockey. After a walk through the city centre in the glorious sunshine, the children ate at McDonalds for their lunch.
This trip (and other upcoming trips and treats) have been funded by the money the children have raised over the past year. Thank you again to everyone who has helped us raise an amazing amount this year!

Year 2 – Forest School, June 2018

1st July 2018T Capon

Year 2 have visited our Forest School. It is such a lovely, calm, beautiful environment. The children did team building games – getting that hoop around the circle without breaking hands was tricky and required others to help!

We used our senses to find out about the world around us. We made a natural palette of colour from our surroundings- this need very careful looking. We hugged a tree and realised that they all feel different. Having a snack and a drink was exciting in the Forest School but of course we cleaned our hands first! We also made tree rubbings. Finally we created our own environmental art!
