Mental Health Awareness Week (14th – 20th May 2018) is about STRESS and how we are coping with it. We all know whats it’s like to feel stressed – it’s part of everyday life. But when you’re overwhelmed by stress, it may lead to mental health problems or make existing problems worse.
This week is also Year 6 SAT’s week and with this in mind, during lunchtime all of this week, Miss Franks has opened the Forest School exclusively for Year 6 pupils. The children have been creating dens and exploring the outdoors in a bid to relieve stress, and anxiety during their exams.
The children in Year 3 and Year 4 took part in a Quorn challange. The children spent the morning baking and learning all about healthy Quorn meals.
The children in year 5 have been learning all about victorian schools. The children enjoyed going back in time!
Little Gem’s pop up shop will be in school on Monday 21st May 2018 at 9.00am during sports day. The pop up shop will be located outside near the school field. This is an opportunity to purchase any items of your child’s school uniform and there will be sample sizes of the P.E polo shirt for your child to try on in order to complete your order form ready for September.
Last week the children in Year 3 were learning all about perimeters. The children then created some wonderful, colourful work for their classroom display. Well done Year 3!
On Thursday 19th April 2018, the children at Stanhope Primary School took part in a workshop led by the RNLI.
Children learnt the importance of the RNLI and which procedures to take in an emergency situation. Thank you to the RNLI team.
On Saturday 19th May 2018, Prince Harry and Megan Markle will marry. In order to celebrate the royal event, on FRIDAY 18th MAY 2018 Stanhope Primary School will host a non-uniform day. Children and staff are to wear the colours red, white and blue for this special day.
There will be no charge to take part and we ask that parents/carers do not go to any expense for this occasion. Children are not permitted to have face paints or coloured hair dye/spray.
The children who hd 100% attendance during Spring Term received a fun filled afternoon watching ‘Ferdinand’ and enjoyed a cinema goodie bag with nachos, popcorn, chocolate and even fizzy pop! The children had a wonderful time. Well done to all of the children who had 100%! Keep it up!
