Due to unforeseen circumstances, the children will be provided with a picnic bagged lunch today.
 
This will include:
 
A sandwich
A savoury snack eg crisps
A piece of fruit or fruit product
A Healthy snack
A drink
 
All dietary requirements and allergies will be catered for.

Year 5- Division Autumn 2, Week 1

Year 5 have been learning the ‘Bus stop method,’ of division today using Numicon as a concrete resource to support their understanding. They really enjoyed the lesson and worked well collaboratively using the Numicon to work out their calculations. Well done Year 5!

 

Halloween in Year 4

HAPPY HALLOWEEN from YEAR 4!

 

Year have thoroughly enjoyed the day. They began by greeting friends and having a chat! 

We took part in crafts, a quiz and enjoyed a Halloween movie, Casper. 

 

A Year 4 pupil is very talented at drawing (all free hand). Great work Mylo! 

Look out for Mylo’s future work – take note of his signature!

Your child does NOT need to isolate and can return to school on Monday 2nd November 2020.

Dear Parent/Carer
 
If school is informed that there is a confirmed case of Covid-19 at Stanhope Primary School, we would undertake a risk assessment and advice with Public Health and identify anyone in the school who would be classified as a Close Contact and would therefore need to self-isolate. It would be our responsibility to notify those Close Contacts of the need to self-isolate.
 
During the school holidays, there will be no staff on the school site to take phone calls.
 
If your child tests positive for Covid-19 over the first weekend of the half term (Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October 2020) please email the following email address as soon as you receive the results to inform the school:
 
 
Any Close Contacts would need to be identified as they would then need to self- isolate or 14 days following the last contact with the positive case. If your child is considered a close contact and is in isolation and then goes onto develop symptoms, they are required to get a test and during this time the whole house must isolate until the results come back.
 
 
If we are informed of a confirmed case during the first weekend, we will contact the parents of the children who need to isolate. It is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT WE HAVE YOUR UP TO DATE TELEPHONE NUMBER.
 
If your child or anyone in your household requires a test OR tests positive from MONDAY (26th October 2020) please follow the track and trace guidance. If your child is in isolation when we return on Monday 2nd November 2020, please contact the school and follow the usual absence procedure.

This half term, the children have been celebrating Roald Dahl! In their classes, they have read a chosen book and completed writing activities. Their work has then been turned into fabulous displays! Thanks to our staff, our school hall is bright and cheerful!

REMINDER! 👻🎃👻🎃

🎃 Tomorrow is our Halloween day in school! Children are able to dress up in their favourite costumes but remember, no masks or accessories but children can have their faces painted if they wish.

🎃 Children must wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear as they will be outdoors during playtime and lunchtime.

🎃 The children will also have a Halloween themed lunch!

EXCITING NEWS! – The children have been asked by Sainsbury’s (Stanhope Road) to take part in a Halloween drawing event. The children have completed drawings which will be displayed in store over half term, so pop in and see if you can spot your drawing!

All children who have completed a drawing will be given some sweets provided by Sainsbury’s, after half term.

Reception class starting times

After half term the Reception gate will open at 8.55am.
Due to Covid regulations and following Public Health advice we are unable to allow visitors into school. Therefore, unfortunately parents and carers will be unable to request their children use the toilet facilities before the Reception gate is open.

I am aware that this may cause a few issues in the morning but we hope you understand and support the situation we are in. Hopefully the earlier start time will help with any issues.
