Emily Veitch last week attended the royal opening at the Old Fire Station in Sunderland.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for Emily after being recognised for her invention, firstly as part of the Winter Gardens exhibition, and then at this event.  The attending groups had been chosen personally by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge themselves as they wished to meet these children from the region.

Emily was one of 3 little inventors who attended; the 2 other children. She represented Stanhope Primary proudly as a pupil. Emily was  the first little inventor to speak to the Duke and Duchess,  which she did considerably well holding conversation with both William and Kate and the Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear.

It goes without saying that we are extremely proud of Emily – Congratulations, what a wonderful memory.
