On Thursday 1st December 14 pupils from KS2 competed at Temple Park Leisure Centre in the South Tyneside H4H qualifiers.
Our 2 teams competed with wonderful team spirit against 36 other teams – with the aim of reaching the H4H Finals night in January.
The ethic and sportsmanship from our teams was superb, while they were all fully committed during their games. Our team 1 topped their morning group, while team 2 finished in 5th place, to just miss out on reaching the last 16 knock-out stage.
Here Stanhope were paired against Hadrian Primary, they advanced winning 4-2, to playing the last 8 against Biddick Hall. In what was a very physical game we prevailed with fantastic leadership and agility demonstrated by Charlie Bates (Captain).
Well done to everyone that took part on the day and the parental support that we enjoyed at Temple Park. The team consisting of Charlie Bates, Maddison Fontaine (Vice Captain), Kara Carter, Sahib Basra, Aston Hall, Shay Capstick and Ethan Wardle will now play at Sports Central on Friday 6th January at 6pm.
It would be wonderful if we can get a lot of children and family members from our school community to attend this prestigious event. All tickets to watch Stanhope and the Newcastle Eagles will be free. It will be a fun filled and exciting night for Stanhope’s school community!
This promises to be a very special occasion for our school, having qualified for such a great competition for the very first time.
