Year 4 enjoyed a visit to The Word in South Shields. Having practiced and been filmed by South Tyneside Council and Unified Media recently, skipping and singing some skipping songs written by local writer Tom Kelly. They attended the launch of a new exhibition (which features the pupils’ film) in the Pod, displayed on the first floor to celebrate the tradition of skipping.

They even got to have juice and a biscuit with the Mayor and Mayoress who were both very impressed with our film!

FACT: Did you know that skipping is one of the best forms of cardio exercise?
