IMPORTANT

22nd January 2021S Office
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parents/Carers
It is expected by The Department of Education, South Tyneside Local Authority and school that all children access work through this mandatory school closure period. The Government have issued laptops to disadvantaged children in years 3 – 6 (KS2), and those laptops are to be used daily to complete work set by your child’s class teacher. It is the parents/carers responsibility to ensure their child is completing work on a daily basis. Please ensure this is done.
Your child’s class teacher will make weekly calls to parents/carers to speak to the children. This is to offer any support/help with the online work that has been set, and a general check to make sure the children are safe and well.
If parents/carers have any queries, they can contact their child’s class teacher directly. Teachers/office staff will reply to emails DURING work hours – 8.00am and 5.00pm. Please do not email staff outside of those hours.
Your support with these requests are greatly appreciated. We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Free School Meal Vouchers

13th January 2021S Office
FREE SCHOOL MEAL VOUCHERS
We have now received confirmation from our Local Authority that Free School Meal Vouchers will resume on Monday (18th January 2021).
Vouchers will be sent to the email address provided by yourselves in September. The vouchers will be ordered via Edenred – The company used in the first lockdown.
If you do not receive your vouchers on Monday, please keep checking your emails. I will be in the office on THURSDAY to take calls if you have still not received your vouchers by then. Please do not call the office until Thursday. There were a few teething problems with Edenred when I applied for vouchers in March 2020, therefore we ask for your patience.
Those who do not have an email address – your vouchers will be posted to you. The chosen store will be Aldi.
PLEASE NOTE – Those children who are currently in school FULL TIME will not receive vouchers.
There will be NO MORE collections of packed lunches due to the vouchers beginning again.
Thank you
Miss Capon

Online Learning – Foundation of Light

6th January 2021S Office

We would like to help and support families through our online Family Learning programmes. We can  offer curriculum activities such as English and Maths as well as our Ministry of Food cooking sessions.

We have set up a timetable of activities for families to access and I was hoping you would be able to promote these programmes on our behalf to your parents through your social media channels, newsletters, or online networks.

We hope that these programmes can provide families with some fun interactive challenges that support their schoolwork, as well as giving families the opportunity to do something different and fun during this lockdown.

All courses are delivered via Zoom and where required, resources will be dropped off or posted out to families.

IMPORTANT COVID INFORMATION

4th January 2021S Office
Dear Parents and Carers.
The current situation regarding COVID 19 is very worrying for us all and I understand that you will all be feeling very anxious about sending your children to school.
If you make the decision that you would rather keep your children at home due to safety concerns, the school will not be pursuing fines for the foreseeable future. The school however will remain open unless we are directed by the Government or Local Authority to close.
As school is still open, teachers will be unable to complete any remote learning but we will try our best to sort some paper learning packs out for those children who are at home. Please be aware that unfortunately there will be no free school meals vouchers issued.
We will continue to send any information by our website or social media page, please be aware that some information we receive from the Government or Local Authority is late, however we will do our best to keep you up to date.
Our Facebook page will be monitored during the school times, between 8am and 5pm, where we will keep you up to date with the latest information as and when we are notified.
Thank you for your support and please stay safe.
Mrs Martin

Christmas 2020

18th December 2020S Office

Parents/Carers

This has been a difficult year for all, and we would like to once again thank parents/carers and the children for their patience and understanding during these times. We always enjoy inviting parents into school to take part in fayres, productions, assemblies, parents evenings and so on and have been left disappointed that we have been unable to do that this term. This year, we wanted to share Christmas with all of our families. The children and staff have worked hard to create Christmas videos in their bubbles. Please click the links below and enjoy. A very Merry Christmas to all of our children, parents, families and staff.
