Antarctic Week in Year 2. ❄️ 🧊 🐧

17th January 2024A Rogers

Today we read a story called Penguins don’t wear sweaters. We then carried out an experiment to see what would happen if oil was spilled into the ocean. We tried a few ways to clean it up and found out that detergent was the best method.

South Tyneside Panathlon Finals 2024

17th January 2024A Rogers
Today the Stanhope Primary School Panathlon team went to a competition held at Temple Park.
We were all very nervous but also very excited! We eventually got started on 7different activities which involved throwing, bowling, aiming, rolling, all with accuracy and precision, in order to score points. We needed to work as a tight team and cheer for our friends.
We were fantastic at the bowling and the parachute events, winning 5/7 events and scoring a fantastic 90 points!
It was a nervous wait for the results but we were thrilled to come first and take home GOLD medals and a trophy for the 3rd consecutive year.
The children have been wonderful and have really enjoyed their morning.
1st Stanhope Primary 90 points
2nd Monkton Academy 85.5 points
