DODGEBALL NATIONAL FINALS 2023

12th July 2023A Rogers
🟡🟢DODGEBALL NATIONAL FINALS 2023🟢🟡
Today our tremendous ten dodgeballers competed in the National Finals in Stoke. They played tremendously well to reach this stage of the competition for the second consecutive time. We were in Group 3 and won 2 of our matches to advance to the Quarter Finals (final 8 teams in Great Britain)!
Here unfortunately we came up against a very tactically astute Cloverlea team who beat us 9-3.
Congratulations to the team and all of their time and effort since September when the very first rounds of the event began.
A special thanks to those Year 6 pupils whose last event in the Stanhope colours was a big one – you will be missed. 🤾🏼‍♂️🤾‍♀️🤾🏽‍♂️🤾🏽‍♀️😄👍

Gold School Games Mark Award 22-23

7th July 2023A Rogers
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year, our 4th in total!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
Our sporting achievements this year include Winning numerous South Tyneside Finals, Tyne & Wear County Finals and even reaching our second National Dodgeball Finals!!
With many of our young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
We look forward to applying once again in 2024!
Mr Rogers 😀⚽️🏀🎾🏑🏏🎽⛹️‍♀️🤾🤸🏆🥇🥈🥉🏆
