Year 5 – Square Numbers

11th December 2020Cheryl Henderson

Year 5 have been learning about square numbers in Maths. On Monday, we created squares using multi link and discussed what makes a square number. Today we have done some fluency work to show an understanding of what we have learned so far and practised our Maths skills. Ask your child to tell you the square numbers we have learned about and what a square number is?

Accelerated Reader- Well done!

7th December 2020Cheryl Henderson
Congratulations to the next group of children who have achieved 5 points or more on Accelerated Reader. It is amazing to see children reading across the school. Keep up the hard work everyone!
Remember to encourage your child to access MyOn at home. This website has thousands of online books to read. Once finished, the majority of the books have a quiz your child can complete on Accelerated Reader.

Well done Year 4!

Some of the children took part in a great opportunity to take part in Level 1 Bikeability. They passed with flying colours and in record time too. The children were presented with their certificates, badges and booklet on Friday 4 December 2020 in our Class Achievement Assembly by Mr Rogers.

Times Table Rockstars

4th December 2020S Office
Times tables Rockstars
Year 1 to Year 6
You should have all received the attached letter on Wednesday with your child’s log in for Times Tables Rockstars.
Please support your child in accessing the app or online link to practise their tables regularly. Short bursts every day are thought to be more effective than say an hour a week. We are running initiatives in school to recognise this work at school and at home and the children already have a class display linked to their progress where teachers and children can celebrate achievements each week.
The children enjoy using the app and we have seen brilliant progress already through statistics we can monitor through the website. Times tables are integral to many areas of Maths so we do appreciate your support with this at home!
Thank you
Mrs Boardman.

Important Information

3rd December 2020S Office

Parents and Carers

Public Health has requested that we remind parents and carers that they should not congregate outside the school gates at the beginning and the end of the school day. There is the expectation that we all keep a 2 metre distance to ensure we keep each other safe.

When children are waiting to come onto premises, Public Health have again requested that children should also be asked to keep a distance.

On a personal note from our own school, we have managed to keep going since September without having to send classes or bubbles home. Thank you for all your support, our goal is to finish the Autumn Term without any disruption.

Many Thanks

Mrs Martin
