Today 13 pupils from KS2 competed at Vertu Honda Arena, Newcastle in the South Tyneside H4H qualifiers.
Our 2 teams competed with wonderful team spirit against 23 other teams – with the aim of reaching the H4H Finals night on 17th March 2023.
Our team 1 topped their morning group winning all 5 games convincingly, while team 2 also qualified finishing the group stages in 2nd place with 3 wins and 2 losses.
Team 1 advance to the knockout stages and faced Team 2 sadly. Team 1 won 2-0 to advance to the final 8 teams, however they unfortunately lost to Harton 1 on a penalty shoot out.

LOST ON PENALTY SHOOT OUT
We held our second House Competitions of this academic year – in Phase 2 and 1 we united to compete in Sportshall Athletics. Each team completing relays, javelin, long jump, chest push and speed bounce events.
The Phase 1 and 2 Quiz included the children worked together to answer quiz questions around maths, English and general knowledge topics. They then worked together to find locations around the world on a map.
The Phase 1 and 2 STEM Challenges: The Phase 1 Challenge was to make the biggest paper chain possible in the time limit given. The children had a sheet of paper, two pairs of scissors, a glue stick and sellotape. The rest was down to the organisation and production of the team. We were so impressed with how well the children worked together to engineer their paper chains. They had fun and definitely took on the challenge.
Phase 2 had to design, make and launch rockets, with the longest distance reached being the winners.
Phase 1 were really were competitive when completing various relays.![]()

Family Learning – Maths Multiply Course
A wonderful morning with parents from Year 3 and 4 working together with their children on some fun Maths challenges. The theme this week was Time. ⏰ Great to have our parents in school working with their children and learning about Maths in lower Key Stage 2. Thanks to Lauren who is running the course this term. See you all next week!
WOW!! What a day!! Our A Team were crowned County CHAMPIONS and our B Team Runners-Up in the Tyne and Wear Dodgeball Finals, held at Tyne Met College today.
The players were absolutely tremendous throughout the day, with the A Team undefeated and the B Team only losing to their counterparts.
The A Team now progresses to the NORTHERN REGIONAL FINALS!
Our B Team were also awarded the Sportsmanship Award – it was lovely to hear of their kindness and support of the other teams from the staff of their rivals today. Fantastic.
Congratulations to both teams who played with great skill, determination and a good sporting attitude too. Their hard work and practice for many weeks certainly has paid off.
I’m personally extremely proud of them all. Lots more practice ahead for our winning team too!
