The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is mental health for all.
The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health and encourages people to prioritise their mental wellbeing.
Miss Coils will be putting new activities on our Virtual Mindful Moment Classroom to support our children’s mental health – some will have a limited availability so do not miss out!
Parents are welcome to use this booklet to support their Mental Health.
Year 4 have had a very busy week…
English:
The children explored the different features of what makes a good persuasive advertising poster.
Maths:
We used the peg boards and loom bands to create symmetrical shapes with our partner. Can you spot which ones are symmetrical and show the line of symmetry? Can you spot any that are NOT symmetrical?
We even attempted to create a symmetrical repeated pattern later in the week.
Science:
This week we explored the differences between conducting and insulating materials. Firstly, we made a complete circuit, followed by introducing different materials such as paper clips, rubbers, plastic rulers, metal spoons to name a few. We made predictions, experimented and explained why they were/ weren’t good conductors/insulators.
