Your child will take part in PE on WEDNESDAY this week. Your child must come to school in their PE kit.

SPORTS DAY 2023
Today the sun shone brightly on our children competing in our annual School Games Day. They were fantastic and did themselves proud in the 9 events earning points for their Teams. At the end of the competition our results were:

Well done also to our Stars of the Day, selected for standing out from their class for various reasons and the Showcase athletes who ran amazingly in their events too with some very close finishes.
Congratulations to the winners and to all who took part, thank you to the parents for their support too 
South Tyneside Active Challenge As you are all aware we took part in the South Tyneside Active Challenge last year and won 1st Prize!! 
We won a whopping £2,000 and the money was used to invite Everyone Cycling into school to work with the children.
We would love to take part again and hopefully, with all of your support come 1st.
South Tyneside Council’s climate change team have once again invited us to take part in the active travel challenge during the month of June. This will also run alongside our “walk to school week”
Lets make this fun and educational for our children! We have set challenges for them to find certain things on the way to and from school, all we need is you to send some photos of them to
Each day they walk to school we are asking for them to find one or more of the following:
#Treasures – Something you loved on your walk to school.
#Colour -Something colourful on your walk to school.
#Weather – Take a photo of the weather. Clouds, sun, puddles etc.
#Animals – Walk your pet to school or did you see any animals on your way to school?
#Vehicles – What modes of transport can you see on your way to school?
We would LOVE to have you and your children on board! If you do use public transport try and use the time walking to take what photographs you can!

Congratulations to our 18 budding athletes had a great day at the Quadkids Finals, where they ran, jumped and threw there way to scoring many points for the team.
We are the Y3/4 South Tyneside Quadkids Silver medalists
The A Team finished in 2nd place and will now compete in the Tyne and Wear County Finals on June 21st.
Well Done to Ava1st Girl Overall (179 points) and Lucas 1st Boy Overall (215 points).

Y4 South Tyneside Tennis FinalsToday our budding tennis stars competed at Boldon LTC and were VICTORIOUS.
They won 42 drew 3 and lost just 9 of their matches. Their hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and determination to succeed has certainly paid off.
They were crowned winners having done superbly, 2nd Monkton Academy and 3rd Lord Blyton.
It is a tremendous achievement. Well done to all of the pupils, I am so proud of you all. Congratulations!
They now go forward to represent South Tyneside in the Tyne and Wear County Finals in June. 
🐶🟡🟢TEDDY MEETS YEAR 1🟢🟡🐶
Teddy loved meeting some more of his friends – this time it was Year 1’s turn. They really enjoyed spending time this afternoon meeting Teddy. They listened to the school rules carefully and Teddy followed their commands extremely well. He’s a paw-some addition to our school family.
We are running a nature rangers one off club on Wednesday 26th April 2023 at 3.30pm until 4.30pm. Its a free club which will be exploring the outdoors, with Mrs Ali and Julie Ross, a Northumberland Nature Ranger.
The children will complete activities based around nature and the outdoors.
Children will need a coat and reasonable footwear for being outside in forest school.

Year 3/4 South Tyneside Gymnastic FinalsSome of our Year 3 and 4 children took part in a gymnastics competition
at the Urban Factory this afternoon. Over the last few weeks the teams have worked really hard memorising and perfecting a routine. They had to perform individually in front of the judges (which was a bit scary). They also got to try lots of other gymnastic disciplines too.
Out of 9 teams that took part the results were as follows:
1st place – Stanhope A Team
2nd place – Cleadon
3rd place – Stanhope B Team
We are super proud of how hard the children have worked, practicing after school and at break times. Well done – you were all amazing
