Teddy loved meeting some more of his friends – this time it was Year 3’s turn. They really enjoyed spending time this afternoon meeting Teddy. They listened to the school rules carefully and Teddy followed their commands extremely well. He’s a paw-some addition to our school family.

School Council – Recycling Assembly

Today our School Council gave an assembly on the importance of recycling. They spoke about all the different ways that we can recycle in school. We recycle clothes, pens, glue sticks, paper, plastic bottles and other hard plastics – all of these go towards helping the environment.

South Tyneside Schools Boccia Finals 2023

Yesterday was a brilliant day for Stanhope’s Boccia team. After attending after school practice sessions the 9 children were split into three teams for the event at Temple Park Centre.
We were among a total of 27 teams competing for a place at the county finals.
We were nervous but having an awesome time playing against some tough competition.
After playing great 8 games per team, it was results time.
Stanhope won first🥇, second🥈and fourth🎖️places. A huge well done to the children as the points scored by all teams were extremely close. We are very proud of our whole team and how hard they have worked to learn the game and be so skilled at it.
County finals next! 😃👍

 

Tyne and Wear Dodgeball Finals 2023

WOW!! What a day!! Our A Team were crowned County CHAMPIONS and our B Team Runners-Up in the Tyne and Wear Dodgeball Finals, held at Tyne Met College today.

The players were absolutely tremendous throughout the day, with the A Team undefeated and the B Team only losing to their counterparts.

The A Team now progresses to the NORTHERN REGIONAL FINALS!

Our B Team were also awarded the Sportsmanship Award – it was lovely to hear of their kindness and support of the other teams from the staff of their rivals today. Fantastic.

Congratulations to both teams who played with great skill, determination and a good sporting attitude too. Their hard work and practice for many weeks certainly has paid off.

I’m personally extremely proud of them all. Lots more practice ahead for our winning team too!

South Tyneside Panathlon Finals 2023

Today the Stanhope Primary School Sportsability and Boccia team went to a competition held at Temple Park.
We were all very nervous but also very excited! We eventually got started on six different activities which involved throwing, bowling, aiming, rolling, all with accuracy and precision, in order to score points. We needed to work as a tight team and cheer for our friends.
We were fantastic at the bowling and the Kurling!
It was a nervous wait for the results but we were thrilled to come first and take home GOLD medals and a trophy.
The children have been wonderful and have really enjoyed their morning.
