South Tyneside Y5/6 Gymnastics Finals 2023

13th December 2023A Rogers
This morning our Year 5/6 gymnastics team took part in the South Tyneside gymnastics competition at the Urban Factory in Hebburn.
They performed a routine in front of the judges (which was very nerve wracking).
They also got a chance to use some of the facilities, which was great fun. Everyone tried really hard and I am super proud of all the children.
Our A Team finished in silver medal position and the B Team in 14th. 🥈🥈

DODGEBALL NATIONAL FINALS 2023

12th July 2023A Rogers
🟡🟢DODGEBALL NATIONAL FINALS 2023🟢🟡
Today our tremendous ten dodgeballers competed in the National Finals in Stoke. They played tremendously well to reach this stage of the competition for the second consecutive time. We were in Group 3 and won 2 of our matches to advance to the Quarter Finals (final 8 teams in Great Britain)!
Here unfortunately we came up against a very tactically astute Cloverlea team who beat us 9-3.
Congratulations to the team and all of their time and effort since September when the very first rounds of the event began.
A special thanks to those Year 6 pupils whose last event in the Stanhope colours was a big one – you will be missed. 🤾🏼‍♂️🤾‍♀️🤾🏽‍♂️🤾🏽‍♀️😄👍

South Tyneside Tag Rugby League Finals 2023

23rd June 2023A Rogers
🟡🟢SOUTH TYNESIDE TAG RUGBY LEAGUE FINALS 2023🟢🟡

Yesterdayour 24 Tag Rugby players competed at Boldon School in the South Tyneside Finals.

Our 3 teams competed with wonderful team spirit, composure and focus.

The children gave 100% to their team in each and every game.

Our A Team topped the table to move forward to the Semi Finals. Our B Team won 4 games, but lost 1 to just miss out on advancing. The C Team won 1 game and lost 2.
Our A Team, supported by the B and C Teams played Lord Blyton A in the Semi Final winning 4-3.
They then played a very high quality final against Monkton A who were highly skilled and took an early lead. However, our brilliant defence and perseverance with attacking resulted in 2 trys from Bobby Sharp (Captain) to win the game 2-1 and take gold 🏉🥇🏆.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the pupils for their commitment and hard work. It’s been a privilege to coach and teach them, seeing them thrive and develop into great sportspeople. Congratulations and always remember that hard work does pay off. I’m so proud of you all and every child who represents us in the green and yellow of Stanhope. 😊👍👋👏

🟢🟡NORTHERN REGIONAL DODGEBALL FINALS 2023🟡🟢
Today our 10 talented dodgeballers competed in Manchester at the Regional Finals.
We played very well and showed great skill and determination. Our many hours of practice paid off after we finished a commendable 6th and therefore progress to the National Finals at Stoke in July! 😄👍
In Group C we firstly played Bramham Primary and scored a 7-5 win this was followed by a loss 2-10 against Cloverlea Primary. But we quickly bounced back to 2 further victories 12-0 vs. Our Lady’s Primary and 8-4 vs. High Street Primary.
We just missed out on competing in the Semi Finals, but played off for 5th & 6th against the 2022 National Runners Up Calthwaite CE Primary losing 7-5.
Congratulations 👏🏼 Our Second National Finals to look forward to. What a wonderful achievement 🤾🏼‍♂️🤾🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️🤾🏻‍♀️
