Tyne and Wear County Boccia Finals 2026

16th March 2026A Rogers
Today our Boccia team competed in the county finals at Gateshead Leisure Centre.
The children showed fantastic teamwork and encouraged each other throughout. Their skill and determination showed in each game and they came third out of 15 teams and won a bronze medal.

South Tyneside Hoops4Health Basketball Finals 2026

🟢🟡 South Tyneside Hoops4Health Basketball Finals 🟢🟡
On Friday night, our basketball team represented Stanhope brilliantly and competed at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle 🏀
The team showed fantastic skill and teamwork in the semi-final against Biddick Hall, securing an impressive 10-0 victory to book their place in the final.
At half time in front of thousands of Newcastle Eagles supporters, the team faced tough opposition and despite a determined effort, they lost 6-0 to St Bede’s. Our team did not give up and showed great sportsmanship throughout the match.
We are incredibly proud of the team for reaching the final, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and excellent effort all the way through the tournament.
Thank you to all of our tremendous supporters, made up of family and friends, as well as staff. A fantastic achievement, well done everyone 👏🏻🏀

South Tyneside Basketball Qualifiers 2026

3rd March 2026A Rogers
🟢🟡🏀 Basketball Hoops4Health 🏀🟢🟡
Yesterday, 15 children travelled to the Vertu Motors Arena to compete in the Hoops4Health Tournament.
Stanhope 1 won all of their games. Their first match was against Forest View 1 which they won 22-0, they then went on to win Biddick Hall 1 36-0, Forest View 2 14-0 and Biddick Hall 2 30-0. Their final match was against St Bede’s 1 which they won 8-6.
Stanhope 2 won 3 out of their 5 matches. They lost their first match 6-4 against St Bede’s 2. They then went on to win 10-0 against Forest View 4 and 10-0 against Forest View 3. They lost their 4th match 2-0 against Biddick Hall 4 but went on to win their final match 2-0 against Biddick Hall 3.
Both teams got through to the final 8 teams of the day and it was our Stanhope 1 team won 12-0 and have now qualified and will compete in the South Tyneside Hoops4Health Grand Final at the Vertu Motors Arena on Friday 13th March.
A huge well done to both teams who took part, you have all worked incredibly hard and showed great teamwork. We are very proud of you all. Well Done 👏🏻🏀

South Tyneside Netball Finals 2026

19th February 2026A Rogers

This morning our netball team competed in the South Tyneside Bee Netball finals at Temple Park. They played 5 matches, winning them all. The final match was a decider against Lord Blyton, we drew that match, meaning we were level on points. Going on goal difference we were 1 goal behind, meaning we finished in silver medal position 🥈.

Going on to represent South Tyneside is the Tyne and Wear finals in June.

 

We are so proud of how hard all the team worked – never giving up and producing some amazing play.

South Tyneside Schools Boccia Finals 2026

Today, our two Boccia teams took part in the South Tyneside Boccia Finals at Temple Park. They each played 13 games, some were very close and tense.
Out of 14 teams our A team came 4th and our B team came 3rd, winning a bronze medal and qualifying for the county finals later in the year.
Well done to both teams who were a credit to the school, we are very proud of you all.

Tyne and Wear Dodgeball Finals 2026

🟢🟡TYNE AND WEAR DODGEBALL FINALS 2026🟡🟢
Yesterday our two dodgeball teams competed at Tyne Met College.
A team played amazingly well and won all of their group matches. They competed in a tense final against Lord Blyton in which it went to extra time. The A team came out winners and now progress to the NORTHERN REGIONAL FINALS.
B team won 3 out of their 5 group games and played brilliantly.
Congratulations to both teams who played with determination, skill and teamwork. Their hard work and commitment to practice has paid off.

South Tyneside Sportshall Athletics Y3/4 Finals 2026

🟢🟡Year 3/4 Athletics Competition🟡🟢
Today, children from Years 3/4 computers in the South Tyneside Indoor Athletic Competition at Temple Park Leisure Centre.
Children competed in running, throwing and jumping events and displayed amazing skill and teamwork throughout.
Children were crowned champions winning gold for their fantastic performance.
We are extremely proud of you all and your hard work and dedication has paid off👏🏻👏🏻
1st place- Stanhope Primary School 🥇
2nd place- St Bede’s Primary School 🥈
3rd place- Lord Blyton Primary School 🥉

South Tyneside Panathlon Finals 2026

SOUTH TYNESIDE PANATHLON FINALS 2026
This morning, our KS2 Panathlon team took part in the South Tyneside Panathlon games. Our team participated in lots of games, using their balancing skills, target practice and hand eye coordination. It was a hard fought competition and we were super proud to be declared winners.
1st place – Stanhope Primary
2nd place – Mortimer Primary
3rd place – Bamburgh School
We were very proud of the teamwork and good sportsmanship shown.

TYNE AND WEAR SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS FINALS 2026

CONGRATULATIONS to our Athletics team who finished a close and respectable 4th in the county finals today at Temple Park.

I am so proud of the pupils, who have put in so many of hours training for this event. They performed well with 3 great relay performances and team spirit demonstrated throughout each and every event.

Choir Christmas Performances

Our wonderful Choir led by Miss Holyoak have really enjoyed performing at both Wingrove House and The Lodge over the past 2 days. They have been practicing for many weeks and love such opportunities. Tonight they will perform at the rear of school for our friends and family – we hope to see you all there from 3:30pm.
