Today is Anzac Day, where we remember Australian and New Zealand service men and woman. Our School council were lucky enough to attend a service at the Kirkpatrick memorial in Ocean Road, where we all read the poem Flanders Fields. Zhalya and Gian gave a reading and then Poppy and Josh laid a wreath on behalf of all South Tyneside schools. Afterwards we were invited by the mayor for a reception at the town hall. We got to go on a tour of the very impressive council chambers and the Mayors office. The children behaved in a very sensible and respectful manner and were a credit to the school.
