International Schools Award

26th September 2024A Rogers

At Stanhope Primary School, we are delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved ‘The International School Award’ at Intermediate level.

The International School Award is achieved by schools that show continued commitment to embedding international awareness within their school and developing a deeper understanding of languages, cultures and countries of the world.
To achieve this award, Stanhope Primary School has taken part in a ‘Spanish Day’ whereby we experienced and took part in some traditional Spanish dancing, explored Spanish culture and traditions and we also enjoyed the flavours of an authentic Spanish menu at lunch time. We have also made strong links with a school in Murcia, Spain where we have learnt first-hand about the local culture and their traditions and we are extremely excited to continue building upon our international relationship with our Spanish Friends and to take part in many more exciting challenges.
To continue working towards our ‘International School Award’ we will continue to build upon our knowledge, awareness and tolerance relating to countries within the wider world. Children at Stanhope Primary School will continue to grow in confidence with how they develop their foreign language skills and their use of the Spanish language.
Mrs Harvey

PLATINUM SCHOOL GAMES MARK!

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games PLATINUM Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

South Tyneside Year 4 Cricket Finals 2024

27th June 2024A Rogers

Today, our Year 4 cricket team competed in the South Tyneside countdown cricket tournament. We played 3 games in our group matches, winning two of them therefore we advanced to the quarter finals. We played Monkton B team and after a convincing win we were through to the semi finals.
After a really tough match against Monkton A we lost by just 8 runs.

We are super proud of how hard the team tried, going for every ball and run. Their practice over the last few months paid off and they played really well.

Well done team Stanhope!

Tyne & Wear County Panathlon Finals 2024

27th June 2024A Rogers
Stanhope’s Sportsability team attended the County Final Panathlon event. We won our way to this county final with brilliance and resilience. This competition began in January with Sportability and Boccia events, of which Stanhope’s teams won first place in the authority and for Boccia, First in the county.
We have had some fabulous athleticism from Richard with his ten-pin perfection, Faith’s Parachute precision, Haroula’s target tenacity, Alfie’s Ace aiming, Grace’s Boccia blast brilliance, Bentley’s bonzer basketball, and Lucas’ kurling craftiness!
We won a thrilling third place amongst some very tough competition- we were only 11 points behind the winners!
All were magnificent in their events and were the best-behaved team I have had the pleasure of leading.
Well done panathletes.
Mrs Ali.
